Institute Of Haematology & Transfusion Medicine , Medical College , Kolkata observed World Haemophilia Day 2022 today.

The program started with a walk for awareness generation from MCH Building , through Medical College premises , ended in Academy Building. Person with Haemophilia, their parents, Principal , Medical College, Director , IHTM, MSVP, Medical College, Deputy Superintendent, Dean, Medical College, Kolkata, State Program Officer, Paediatrician and other staffs of IHTM participated in the rally.

In the inaugural program , Prof Raghunath Misra , Principal Medical College mentioned about the necessity of this type of program for awareness generation. Dr. Sabyasachi Das MSVP spoke about availability of factors near the residence of patients. Dr. Manab Nandy appreciated the initiative. Dr. Biplabendu Talukdar assured for extension of the program to involve even subdivisional hospitals & health Centers in near future.

In the morning before the rally there was drawing competition for the haemophilia patients. A cultural program was organised in the academic building of Medical College in which the haemophilia patients performed.

Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Group was created including Paediatrican, Dental surgeon, Physiotherapist , Counsellor, Medical officer, Nursing Staffs for proper care of the patients. This group will be monitored by Prof. Maitreyee Bhattacharyya.
